Privacy policy
Effective October 16, 2026 · Punto de Oro, padel scoreboard for Garmin watches
In short: no accounts, no ads, and we don't sell or share data. Your matches stay on your watch and in your Garmin account. The live scoreboard is optional: it only sends points and games, no personal data, and it is deleted after 6 hours.
Who is responsible
Punto de Oro (independent developer, Argentina). Contact: traelo.ar@gmail.com.
What stays on the watch
- The match in progress, the format you chose, your settings and the history of your last 10 matches are stored only in the watch's memory.
- They never leave the watch, except for what is described below.
What is recorded in your Garmin activity
The app records the match as a padel activity, like any other activity on the watch. Besides heart rate, calories and duration, which the watch itself measures, it adds these fields:
- the result, points won and lost, breaks and the match format;
- the accumulated points throughout the match;
- if shots are enabled: shot count, swing speed (~km/h, estimated) and power;
- if you enable Lab mode: raw accelerometer and gyroscope data, to analyze shots.
That activity syncs to your Garmin Connect account and is handled by Garmin under its privacy policy. We never receive it.
Live scoreboard (optional, off by default)
If you turn it on in Settings → Live scoreboard, after each point the watch sends to our server, through the Garmin Connect app on your phone:
- the points and games of the match, and whether someone is one point from winning or has won (e.g.
40 15 5 3); - a 4-letter code and a random key generated by the watch, so only your watch can write to your scoreboard;
- a sequence number for the messages.
Your name, heart rate, location or any account data are never sent.
- The server keeps only the latest score and deletes it 6 hours after the last update.
- The code is the scoreboard's address: anyone who knows it can see the score, not your information.
- The watch also asks the server for the QR code it shows on screen.
Matches saved in the cloud
When you save a match, the watch sends our server (through the Garmin Connect app on your phone) a record of the match, so you can see it and share it on its own page:
- the format (sets, games, tie-break, golden point, etc.);
- the sequence of points (who won each one, and serve corrections) with the time of each;
- the result and a summary: points won and lost, breaks;
- the app language, the watch's 4-letter code and its random key.
We do not send your heart rate, your name, team names, your location or any data from your Garmin account. The match is linked to the watch's random key, not to a person.
- Why: the match page you can share (
oro.paga.ar/p/…) and, later on, your stats. - Who can see it: the match page is public to anyone with the link. The link has 10 random characters: it can't be guessed or listed.
- How to turn it off: on the watch, Settings → Cloud matches. When it's off, the watch sends nothing.
- How long: until you ask us to delete them, or 24 months without any new match from that watch.
- How to delete them: email traelo.ar@gmail.com with your watch's 4-letter code (Settings → Live scoreboard) and we'll delete all its matches.
Invite code
If you enter an invite code to try beta features, the watch checks it against our server together with the watch's code. It is not linked to any personal data.
The scoreboard web page
- Team names you type, the language and the screen layout are stored only in that browser (local storage). They never reach our server.
- We don't use tracking cookies, third-party analytics or ads.
Providers and security
- The server runs on Cloudflare and the short address on Vercel. To run the service and stop abuse (requests-per-minute limits), they process each request's IP address. We don't store it in our database.
- Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS).
- We validate everything that comes in and limit requests per IP and per code.
Permissions the app asks for
- Fit and FitContributor: record the padel activity and its fields.
- Sensor and SensorLogging: detect shots with the accelerometer and gyroscope, and Lab mode.
- Communications: live scoreboard, QR code and invite code. With the scoreboard off, nothing is sent.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction or deletion of any data by writing to the contact above. Since there are no accounts, the scoreboard score deletes itself after 6 hours; to delete it sooner, send us your code. Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law 25,326 applies, and the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública is the supervisory authority. If you use the app from the European Union or the EEA, you also have the rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability. The legal basis for the little data processed is providing the service you ask for (the live board) and keeping it secure.
Changes
If what the app does with data changes (for example, accounts or paid features in the future), we will update this page first, with the new date at the top.
